Taylor & Nick: A Wedding in North Stonington

Taylor and Nick were married on a beautiful and clear August day at Jonathan Edwards Winery.  Jonathan Edwards is a charming little vineyard tucked away in a great little Connecticut town.  They were married IN the vineyard, which is a place in which I have not played a ceremony before.  After this one, however, I can’t wait until the next!

Derek and I got a special treat that day, in that we got to sing along with Nick’s brother, the talented Matthew Morris.

It was such a treat to get to play along with a singer, especially getting to play more modern tunes.  My favorite was All You Need is Love, as it’s one of my very favorite recessional pieces.  Another really cool thing was the officiant, Bridget Caviness.  She spoke from the heart when giving the ceremony, and was really cool to chit-chat with beforehand!

The wedding was shot by the awesome Armor and Martel.  In dealing with Chris before we met at the wedding, I asked him, as I always do, to take a few shots of the musicians if they could.  What we got was beyond my expectations, as their shots of us playing are some of the best I have seen.  Thank you again, guys!

A wedding at Dolce Norwalk: Lauren & Bobby

6.6.15 Lauren & Bobby 2

Lauren & Bobby were married on a beautiful June day in Norwalk, CT at Dolce, a Hotel & Conference Center.  Many years ago, Dolce was a monastery, home to the Holy Ghost Fathers.  In the late 1970’s, it was sold to GTE, who transformed it into the site we know today.  Set on 66 beautiful acres, it was the perfect setting for a wedding.

Seating of the families: Bach – Air on the G string

And, as always, it was great to see an old friend, Don Burr.  The last time I had seen him was when he officiated my wedding back in 2013.

Katya and Donari were married on a beautiful August day.  It was sunny outside, but the backyard in which they were married had just the right amount of shade.  From the first time we connected, I could tell that Katya was a classical music lover.  She was sure that she wanted to walk down the aisle to a movement from Rachmaninoff’s first string quartet, appropriately named “Romance.”  She was also sure she wanted to exit the ceremony with her new husband to the “Sleeping Beauty Waltz” by Tchaikovsky.

When I met Donari the day of their wedding, he said “You don’t know how much it means to us that you’re playing a piece by Rachmaninoff for the processional; he’s kind of my hero.”  That made me even more glad I could make a custom arrangement of that for their special day!

Lauren and Jeff were married on a warm and sunny summer day. Their ceremony was held in the garden of the Waterview with a beautiful view of the water. When we spoke she was certain that she wanted to walk down the aisle to something classical and walk out to Michael Buble. It was a great mix of old and new.

Litchfield, Connecticut: First Congregational Church

On a beautiful July day Caitlin and Ian exchanged vows during their classically elegant ceremony. To compliment the tone of their ceremony we selected a classical repertoire for the Trio to perform. Caitlin was absolutely stunning and Ian could not be more in love with his bride.
